Let's talk Worthiness

Let’s talk worthiness.

I’ve been listening to podcasts lately (thanks @mindvalley @sarhprout @marissapeer) and working on this myself and am coming to realise how BIG this feeling it. Think about it. If you don’t feel worthy of something whether it be love, respect, money, whatever it maybe, how that impacts your life.

IMHO, not feeling worthy could quite possibly be the root of so many issues these days – substance abuse, anxiety, depression, domestic violence.? Because if you felt worthy, then you wouldn’t want to poison yourself with drugs or alcohol. If you felt worthy, then maybe you would have the reoccurring thought patterns/habits that contribute to anxiety and depression. If you felt worthy, you certainly wouldn’t accept any form of violence in your life.

So I’m beginning to understand that as a parent, one of our most important jobs is to instil worthiness in our children. For them to grow up feeling worthy of love, feeling worthy of respect – from others and themselves, feeling worthy of being the best person they can be – healthy, happy, fulfilled, and in loving relationships.

BUT how can they learn that, unless we show it to ourselves? Your thoughts?
